Remaining Public Holidays in Singapore 2018 (From: MOM website)

– Possible min. four-day long weekends with Friday or Mondays taken off

2) Shortlist travel destinations

– Use Skyscanner to have a check on ticket prices from Singapore to everywhere in the world.

– Prices vary due to distance, season and airline choice (filter options are available)

– Once you have booked your flights, get travel insurance!

3) Look for suitable accommodation

– Use aggregating sites like Trivago, Agoda, Expedia to check and filter prices

– Counter-check with the hotel website

– Distance to public transport and tourist attractions

4) Look up transport guides

– There are usually tourist cards allowing unlimited travel on certain modes of public transport

– Make sure to find out which types are covered (eg. JR Pass is not valid for the Tokyo Metro)

5) Plan itinerary to minimise unnecessary travel

– This will help you save time

6) Foreign SIM guide

– Depends on your travel destination and  the data allowance that you need

– A few of our favourites: ChangiRecommends (WiFi egg and SIM card promotions), MCard (good for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia and Taiwan) and even Qoo10.

7) Enjoy!
